The Agency is one of Amelix’s most successful projects and was founded on the notion that the best people to market to young people are…young people!
We provide schools with all the tools they need to turn their classroom into an advertising agency, running workshops that encourage creative thinking, give advice and nurture ideas.

It is, in essence, a large scale competition aimed at older secondary school and college students and can involve any number of schools from 2 – 2000. The students are given a brief based on your key messages and the students then have to create some advertising media which may be realised.
All the schools taking part then submit their work to a judging panel including experts from the industry and client representatives. The winning school gets their design transformed into a real campaign produced through your choice of local media.
The message that is worked with can be about anything from promoting recycling, further education and careers to anti drink/drugs and sexual health campaigns.
Schools across the UK are very keen to embrace this competition, not only because it gives the school a substantial amount of local media coverage and prestige if they win,
but it helps them excel at their Enterprise in Learning, work-related learning and enterprise education obligations which they are now Ofsted inspected on.
It also gives the young people real experience and understanding of how marketing and media campaigns are put together.
We have worked with numerous education authorities to integrate the Agency competition into an assortment of national curriculum subjects, from art and design to business, English and media.
In the Agency project, students learn by doing.
Amelix runs workshops in participating schools with our own team of designers and producers who are trained in delivering workshops that encompass a range of learning styles. This enables us to reach, and inspire every single student in the group, encouraging them to research your message as well as giving them enough knowledge and understanding to create their own work.
These experts aren’t teachers and the students aren’t being taught at desks, they are huddled round a projector screen editing their own creative design with a graphic design expert, or performing their own 30second radio advert about your ideawith one of our producers.
Alongside the visits, the teachers are given an educational resource pack, including suggested work that optionally can be completed during lessons to support the curriculum, advance their skills and help create your exceptional campaign. Using these resources, the teachers will then assist the students in the pre agreed way (either within class, after class or both!).
Every school and pupil taking part in the competition receives a branded certificate to celebrate their achievement. Schools usually display this certificate in their reception areas, and students often keep their certificates in their record of achievements.
